PROJECT MANAGEMENT
Project management has many important applications
in higher education: as well as major
new developments which need to be managed
as projects, many smaller activities involving
organisational change can benefit by being
designated as projects, with project management
techniques applied selectively to them.
Universitas's own work demands high-level project
management skills to operate the projects
for which it is contracted. This is supported
by experience gained by our team working
as project managers in higher education and beyond.
We are therefore able to apply this varied
experience in operating training courses
in project management for university staff.
The skills needed in project management are
partly technical, but demand also leadership,
communication and administrative skills.
Our training programmes are designed to highlight
these various aspects of the project manager's
task.
Two Universitas consultants, Tony Barton and Paul
Temple, are the authors of the
UK Association of University Administrators
